Texas Returns to School

More than five weeks before the long, hot summer of 2026 officially comes to a close, Texas schoolchildren are returning to schools across the state and, of course, in Lamar County. 

Roxton’s school district, the Chisum Independent School District located south of Paris, returned to school last week. Based on photos submitted to the Roxton Progress, most of the student, especially this little ones, appeared excited to get to school and open another academic year. For the older kids, the unofficial close of summer was bittersweet.
