West Lamar Holds All-School Reunion

The West Lamar Leopards were the athletic teams, mascot, and yearbook of the historical West Lamar School in Lamar County. The school operated from 1949-1985 and served western Lamar County, specifically the communities of Petty, Pleasant Hill, Brookston, Forest Hill, and Tigertown. The school’s campus was located on the south side of U.S. 82 about three miles east of Petty, While the school has been closed for 40 years, alumni gather annually to celebrate West Lamar’s history as a primary school district in Lamar County. The district later consolidated with the Chisum Independent School District.,
