Rhonda Jo Roden Sweat 1952-2022

Rhonda Jo Roden Sweat, 69, of Arlington, Texas, passed away at her home Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born in Arlington, Texas, on September 4, 1952, to Joe and Beatrice Akers Roden. She married David Sweat on April 76, 1984, in her Grandmother Akers’ home in Roxton. Rhonda attended Arlington public schools and the University of Texas at Arlington. She retired from Fuqua Homes after more than twenty years of service. She is survived by her husband David of Arlington, her mother Beatrice Roden of Roxton, brother Gary Roden of Arlington, stepson Jeff Sweat of Arlington, stepdaughter Michelle Azar and husband Alex of Longview, and step-grandson, Alex Azar III and wife Sydney, two sisters-in-law Cathey Casey and Pat Kirby and their families, and aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Sweat, her father Joe Roden, and her grandparents. Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 26 at Restland Cemetery in Roxton, with Pastor Nancy Russell officiating. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
