This Thanksgiving, thank a frontline worker

By Staff

Frontline workers are the people you see every day. They are the face of their companies, organizations, and businesses. They greet you when you walk in the door, serve you when you are with them, and wave good-bye when you leave. They are always there for you, and they always have been.

Still, we too often take these workers, often the lowest paid employees in an organization, for granted. They seem to blend in and become part of the businesses we patronize or the services we seek — often they are invisible, a part of the product. Only the pandemic has brought frontline workers into the spotlight.

Customer service professionals have risked a lot since the pandemic began, and many have fallen ill — some losing their lives. Others have been laid off, furloughed, had benefits cut, or otherwise seen their jobs change, all in efforts to keep their companies afloat and see that you, the customers, are well-served.

So, this Thanksgiving, as you sit down to a meal with your families, take a moment to recognize the frontline workers who have served you over the last two tension-filled years. And when you see the workers, express your thanks.

Here are a few tips from operationwarm.org on how to thank the frontline workers you have come to know and even those you are meeting for the first time:

What do you say to thank a frontline worker, to lift their spirits or let them know that you value their support? Uplifting messages can go a long way to letting someone know that you care, but there are even more powerful long-lasting benefits to sending a message to a frontline worker.
