Roxton Methodist Announces Summer Events

June 02, 2021

As the town of Roxton reopens, so does Roxton United Methodist Church. Worship services resumed in March and the new pastor, Reverend Nancy Russell, joined the church on May 1, “We’re open for business and we want everyone to know.” At a recent planning meeting, Louise Lipstraw, Choir Director, said, “Let’s open the summer with song. Let’s invite everyone for an old-fashioned Gospel Music Sing Along.” Everyone was in agreement and the Sing Along is scheduled for Saturday, June 26 at 6:30pm. The event takes place at the church pavilion. Song sheets will be available for those who want to join in. A sandwich supper will be served. Songs that most of us learned in our youth will be sung. Everyone is welcome. Please bring a friend and bring a chair. United Methodist Women (UMW) resumes on June 16 at 6:30pm at the RUMC Fellowship Hall. All women are welcome to join us regardless of denomination. This is a bible-centric study and women’s fellowship. Bingo’s back beginning July 10 at 6:30pm. Also in the Fellowship Hall. Adults and children are welcome. There’s no charge to play or for dinner. The menu is Mexican Stack-Up, Ice Cream and Brownies. Prizes are awarded to the Bingo winners. August 29 Potluck Lunch - Every time there’s a 5th Sunday in the month, the church holds a potluck after the morning worship. Come for church and come for lunch or just come for lunch.
