City of Roxton and Community Development Sponsor Big Day in Roxton

As a service to the community, on Saturday, June 19, the City of Roxton and Community Development will sponsor a Citywide Clean-Up Day, followed by a free concert. Sanitation Solutions will place a dumpster near the Roxton Feed Mill for the use of Roxton residents. As in the past, Sanitation Solutions informed us that they cannot accept the following: excessive amount of building materials, tires, liquid paint, chemicals, appliances that require freon, televisions, computer monitors, fluorescent bulbs, and batteries. They also request that items be placed inside the dumpster, not on the ground. Volunteers are needed to help pick up trash on and around Roxton streets. Please meet at the Community Center at 9:00, pick up a trash bag, and devote a few minutes to help improve the looks of Roxton. Free hot dogs will be served at the Community Center from 11:00-1:00. Rest after the cleanup and return to the front street at 7:30 p.m. to enjoy a free concert by Smokey Lonesome Band, who has delighted our crowds in the past. Be sure to bring a chair. Good attendance may result in another free summer concert.
