Summer Feeding for Children Start June 7

June 02, 2021

The Roxton Community Center will once again be the pickup site for summer meals for children. Grab and Go meals will be available Monday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon. The Community Center is located at 102 Harrison Ave. in Roxton. Meals are available for all children 18 years and under. Lunch for the day and breakfast for the next day will be bundled together. While children need not be present, adults will be asked for the names of the children. Each child will receive one meal bundle per day. Adults will be asked to attest that they have not already visited another site for meals for those children that day. The program is part of the USDA’s National School Lunch Program - Seamless Summer Option. There is no charge to those receiving the meals. Meals are prepared by Paris ISD and delivered to Roxton by Chisum ISD staff. Children do not need to be students of either of these schools. Volunteers will be on hand from the community. Among them will be those from Roxton United Methodist Church (RUMC). This year the church will provide a take-away story and craft with each meal. More details will be available at the meal site.
