Congratulations Fannindel FFA
Saturday’s morning rain did not deter participants from across Northeast Texas and beyond from exhibiting over 150 head of beef cattle, plus a substantial number of dairy cattle, sheep, and goats, at the Quitman Young Farmers Livestock show. Fannindel FFA’s Show Team had a long but rewarding day that started at 4:00 a.m. or before for most of this hardworking group of young people with catching, washing, and feeding their show heifers prior to loading them on a trailer and leaving for Quitman at 6:00 a.m. The FFA show team sees lot of sunrises and just as many sunsets, but they know the lessons learned in and out of the show ring are just as important and possibly more valuable to their future success than what they learn during the week in their 8:00-3:30 class rooms.
The results from the Quitman Show for the Fannindel FFA Show Team:
~Jawaylon Shaw exhibited the grand champion Brangus heifer, grand champion ARB heifer, and the grand champion American division heifer.
~Katie Burnett exhibited the grand champion Brahman heifer, a 2nd place Brahman heifer, a 2nd place Shorthorn heifer, and a 1st place Shorthorn heifer.
~Katie Summit exhibited a 1st place Hereford heifer.
~Abby Duplechan exhibited the grand champion Limousin heifer.
~Lyndsey Franklin exhibited the grand champion Charolais heifer, which was also the grand champion Exotic Division heifer, and the overall Supreme Champion heifer. Great job by all Fannindel FFA show team members! The next show is this week at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo, March 3-10.
