Chisum Book Fair Kicks Off with Grandparents’ Picnic Lunch

annual Grandparents’ Lunch and Book Fair shopping event. Abbi Freeman, the new Elementary School Librarian said, “This annual event was not held last year due to COVID. This is something that our staff, students, parents, and grandparents look forward to every year. We have been blessed to receive permission to make up the event this year!”

The March 26 kick-off will be held from 10:30am to 1:30pm in the parking lot next to the Elementary School Library. Guests are to sign in at this location. Students will be brought from class as their family members arrive. Volunteers will be available to help with selection and purchasing of books.

A picnic lunch will be available at the event. The lunch includes a choice from two entrees: Chicken Strips with Cornbread Muffin or Pulled Pork Sandwich. Both are served with potato chips, beans, fruit, dessert, tea or milk. An adult lunch is just $4.00. School-age children eat free.

Reservations for lunch are appreciated, but not required. Reservation forms were sent home through the classroom or may be made by emailing Penny.kelly@chisumisdorg.

The Scholastic Book Fair continues the week of March 29. All Elementary students will have the opportunity to shop at the book fair during selected class times.
