Why Did Christ Come?

by W.A. Martin

At the end, we don’t want to have to say we made room for everything except the most important thing, Christ. Christ himself said: ”for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10). He came to provide the means for forgiveness of sin. For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”(Isaiah 9:6). God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us(2Cor.5:21), “Who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised because of our justification.” (Romans 4:25). Life is not a game of chance, but of choice.

What are we doing about the message He brought to this earth? The poorest person on earth is the one that has not found the pearl of great price. (Matthew 13:46).“Come now and let us reason together” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson,They shall be as wool.” ( Isaiah 1:18). The message from Christ is come as you are and leave as you ought to be. “He paid a debt He did not owe, I owed a debt: I could not pay, now I can sing Amazing grace how sweet it is.” Christ took our place, that we might have His peace, He took our sins, that we might have his salvation. The love of God and the sacrifice of Christ leaves man with out excuse.”
