Lamar County 4-H: Where Leaders are Born
Texas 4-H offers many different opportunities to grow 4-Hers leadership skills. There are 2 local clubs that offer officer positions, Lamar County 4-H Council, has 8 officer positions. President ,Vice President, 2nd Vice president, 3rd Vice president, Secretary, Reporter, Health and Safety, and Parliamentarian. Lone Star Club offers President, Vice President, 2nd Vice, 3rd Vice, Secretary, Reporter, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian.
These positions are elected yearly, some positions in County 4- H Council require candidates to be high school age or at least 14. Another opportunity beyond that is District Council officer, which directs decisions for our 22 County District, and beyond that is State 4-H Officers. Here are some benefits to being an officer. Officers are able to be a role model to younger 4-Hers, work together with other officers and make decisions for the Club or County 4-H. Being an officer allows you to learn skills to build your leadership capabilities. In addition to that , it can go on college applications.
