Crossroads

by Lucas Crossland

My grandmother, Annie Moore (aka, “GG”), grew up in my Grandpa Wiley Hackett’s garden. She learned to quilt using her mother’s cotton corder. Corders are like wire brushes used to make batting for a quilt, and I have the experience to know that they can really scrape up your knuckles if you aren’t careful!

She gave me this quilt for my birthday after working on and off on it for 14 years! The quilt includes 258 pieces of cotton and 198 pieces of fabric. Made the old-fashioned way, I really love it!
